mBraining is a coaching and personal development approach developed by the late Grant Soosalu and Marvin Oka based on the idea that we do not have just one “brain”, but three interconnected centres of intelligence, each with specific abilities and functions:
1. Head Brain – cognitive thinking, reasoning, planning.
2. Heart Brain – emotions, values, connection, compassion.
3. Gut Brain – instinct, courage, confidence, deep identity.
mBraining offers techniques to align and integrate these three “brains” in order to make wiser, more consistent and harmonious decisions.
It represents an evolution of NLP based on neuroscience studies, particularly on the role of the autonomic nervous system and bodily practices to facilitate alignment and communication between nerve centres, for example with a few minutes of balanced breathing.
It is particularly effective for resolving internal conflicts and making difficult decisions.
At alkyma, we learned mBraining practices directly from its founder Grant Soosalu in an intensive personal exploration course in the Netherlands.
