When people talk about negotiation, they often think of commercial negotiation, where a seller tries to convince and persuade a buyer to pay a high price, or, conversely, where a buyer tries to “push the price down” with a supplier.
“I’m not a salesperson” — this is the belief, and the reason why many skilled specialists and professionals do not negotiate well and never even learn how to do it.
In reality, negotiation is a core skill for collaboration between people: to reach agreements, set deadlines, assign responsibilities, define priorities, and so on. Like any skill, it can be learned. The most intuitive and effective tools we use at Alkyma come from the Harvard negotiation school, combined with the art of questioning from professional coaching and strengthened by NLP communication techniques.
With this empowerment programme, participants will learn to understand what people do or do NOT want, they will learn how to “say no gracefully”, they will learn when it is better to stop, and how to turn a NO into a YES.
